Cambridge-Oxford Owners Club Welsh Rally
The Cambridge-Oxford Owners Club Welsh Rally will be held at the Talyllyn Railways Abergynolwyn Station as part of the revived Tom Rolt vintage vehicle weekend and the railways 60th year of preservation celebrations.
The rally field is situated by the B4405 Talyllyn Tywyn road in the heart of the Afon Fathew valley just below the station, which has a caf and all facilities including a childrens play area.
Those of you with children may already know that the Talyllyn railway was the inspiration behind the Rev.W. Awdrys Thomas the Tank Engine books about the Skarloey Railway!
There cant be many rallies held in such beautiful scenery. If you decide to stay in the area following the event there is much to see and do in this area. The seaside resorts of Aberdyfi or Barmouth with miles of safe sandy beaches are only a short drive away. Other attractions such as Port Merion, Harlech Castle and the Slate Caverns at Bleanau Ffestiniog are all within an hours very scenic drive.
