Location description
Towneley Park is the largest and most popular park in Burnley. It has a long history as a private estate, with much of it's current landscape the result of work carried out in the late eighteenth century by Charles Towneley.
The Park and the former family residence, Towneley Hall, were purchased by Burnley Corporation in 1902 and have been in public use ever since.
It is widely and affectionately known locally as "the jewel in Burnley's crown"
